We have started it through pro-life lectures in public schools and vocational schools. We presented tree programs - truth about abortions, sexual relationships and truth about drugs. Each program contained of basic information, video film, preaching of the Gospel and distribution of the Bibles and tracks. God enabled us to preach the good news to more than a 1200 high grades students from 14 different schools. Most of the students were very receptive and interested asking us to come back and tell them more. When we go forward the enemy gets mad. In one of the schools one extreme-Orthodox lady was very upset thinking that we are some kind of cult trying to deceive kids. Eventually she wrote a paper to governmental school board asking them to stop our activities. They followed her advise. We know that the enemy won't be able to stop the ministry which the Lord gave us. As it is written: "These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth". Within several month God opened another doors: sister Irina was invited to deliver lectures in the maternity hospital and soon after she was given a room in the maternity welfare clinic absolutely free of charge. Moreover, doctors (many of them are not Christians) often send to her women who are planing to abort their babies! All these activities together with many prayers resulted in decreasing the numbers of abortions in our city. Praise our Lord for every saved life for every life is precious and invaluable! At present time our pro-life ministry reaches to the maternity hospital, maternity welfare clinic and the hospital for the abandoned children. In July of 2001 we held a pro-life seminar with the help of two sisters from the Great Britain. It was successful. Eighteen pro-life ministers from several different churches (Baptists, Pentecostals and even Orthodox) and four regions (Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Altay) were gathered for 5 days to receive inspiring instrumental teaching on how to establish and maintain pro-life ministry in cooperation with the local church. Elaine Davis and Johanna Thompson from Care for Life came from Britain specially to lead this seminar. Everybody was very glad to attend the conference and received new insight on how to be more effective in the ministry for unborn children and their parents. We hope that the seminar finally will result in many lives saved and would like to continue our friendship with Care for Life. Our plans for the year 2002: 1. Continue pro-life ministry in the maternity hospital, maternity welfare clinic and the hospital for the abandoned children. 2. Develop a "Mothers' school". This is a course for both parents in order to prepare them for the birth of their child. Course will include spiritual, psychological and medical information. We hope it would become additional tool for the pro-life ministry. 3. Hold a second pro-life conference in order to train people for this ministry. 4. Participate and teach on other pro-life conferences. 5. Deliver our pro-life lectures in public centers for young people, where Irina was invited.
